Sometimes the simplest craft ideas produce the best results, and not just because they require minimal effort. (You’ve got enough planning to do.) A few strokes of paint in a free-flowing design, a quick punch or two, and you’ve got a look that’s clean and timeless. When those ideas involve watercolor—G&G’s current obsession—even better! Case in point: paper cups dressed up in stripes and personalized favor tags.
Stack colorful cups at your candy station (along with bags for the trip home, of course), and guests can help themselves to an on-site treat. Sure, beverage napkins do the trick, but they’re not ideal for all types of sweets. Sticky candy that’s been left on a linty paper napkin? Not pretty.
Just as lovely are these tag shapes cut out with a card punch, for gift tags. You might adapt this idea using letter-size card stock and tools you already have to make a garland or welcome banner to display at the escort table. The third project we love, amazing paper flower centerpieces, are much more time-consuming but the effect so beautiful, we think it’s worth the effort.
Will you be trying these projects for your celebration? How will you adapt them for your theme and occasion? Any tips for a crafting newbie?
